Buddhist Monks Begging for Alms, Bangkok

In Thailand, where 95 percent of the population is Buddhist, monks are responsible for preserving and conveying the teachings of the Buddha. Each morning, they walk from their monasteries to meet and pray for lay Buddhists, who in turn place food and money in the alms bowls carried by the monks.
