A newly-ordained Buddhist monk is dressed in a saffron robe during an ordination ceremony at Chol-phathann Raensasilt Temple in Noonthaburi outside Bangkok. Monks are expected to refrain from killing living beings, stealing, unchaste conduct, false speech, intoxication, eating at forbidden times, dancing, singing, wearing garlands, using perfumes, using high or large beds and accepting gold and silver.
